Remote Learning in the Event of Non-Attendance (Covid19)

Set Homework

All children have reading books to read and discuss with an adult and a Reading Record Book. Spellings are learned and tested weekly. Each half term, children are given a choice of topic related projects to complete. These are then displayed and shared with parents and peers at the end of each half term.

Reception	Reading - every night. Phonics - little and often. ½ termly topic
KS1: Year 1&2	Reading - every night. Phonics - little and often. Weekly spellings to be tested on Friday. ½ termly topic
KS2: Year 3, 4, 5 & 6	Reading - every night. Weekly spellings. ½ termly topic

At Lydford, pupils from year 3 to 6 have an individual login for SPAG.com. This resource tests pupils’ knowledge of spelling, punctuation and grammar and prepares them for the end of key stage two tests.

Is a fabulous resource with lots of fun tips and games to encourage reading for pleasure. The site has 250 e books available to download and read free. The library of books can be searched for by age as well as type of book and series.

Is a website designed to support parents of children aged 0-7. The site has book suggestions and activities and can be searched by theme or age range. The quality of the books is excellent and it is a very useful, easy to use site.

Love Reading for Kids

An online bookstore which is great to use as a tool to keep up-to-date with new books. You can look at books for different ages and if you register, you will be sent regular updates of new titles.
